TLDR;
Exceptional as it states, tobacco, meaty in the nose and red tea with plum.

Again, thanks to a very kind sir, I manage to get my mouth in this. Craigellachie Exceptional Cask Series finished in Rioja wine cask for 10 years. Was first distilled and filled on 24th August 1994 and bottled on the 25th of July 2018. Bottled at 56%, outturn of 216 bottles. Bottling for Travelling Retail Australia.
This Craigellachie does differentiate itself from the rest of the core releases, also mainly because of the Rioja wine cask's influence on the liquid. At first, I didn't notice it was a double cask as the wine cask didn't steal the show. Instead, it blended in so well and constructed a great play in my mouth.
So, I better note it down before my memory passed out of my body together with other liquids.
Craigellachie 1994 23YO Exceptional Cask Series 56%
Nose: Tabacoo, meaty and maple leafs-it do give me the impression that I'm rolling on the group filled with maple leaves, and autumn is here. Some red Oolong tea flavour as well. Complex.
Mouth: Still tobacco, brown sugar, and the texture of brown cubes (or sands) rubbing in the mouth (You know those feelings?). And was it plum? Some fruitiness is hiding below the liquid. And creaminess with hints of red tea as well. Bold but well structured in the mouth, not too overpowering.
Finish: Medium for me, and autumn had left some cream and plum for me before he was gone.
Generally, this profile is not my type of whisky. But, it is a quality malt from Craigellachie, simply exceptional, well-structured, filled with tobacco, and it is not those disturbing kinds of tobacco -as yall should know by now, I'm a good boy and I don't smoke. The wine cask blends in very well, and the nose still got me thinking till now (about 5-6 hours after I drink it).
