TLDR;
Orange peels, brown sugar and cream.

A Grain-sky release from PST back in October 2022. From Strathclyde distillery, distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2022 at 29 years old. Using 2 refill barrels in the maturation process and corked at 57.1%. The outturn of 379 bottles.
Strathclyde has been under Pernod Ricard since 2005; the grain liquid has been used as one of the main fundamental liquids as part of their Chivas Brother and Ballatines Blend.
Strathclyde 1993 29 YO Single Grain 57.1%
Nose; Orange peels and pulp, fresh citrus. Very Rum-y-like. Quite woody sweet. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of the official tasting notes haha.
Mouth; Vanilla cream, brown sugar and hints of orange peels. The body of the liquid is soft and still reminds me of rum.
Finish; Creams and spice.
That's what I felt about most high-age statement grain nowadays; their profiles are more or less similar (Especially the nose part, and the mouth is more of a tiny twitch here and there)- but they are still tasty!
* A tiny twitch example;
PST Invergordon 1987 34YO, 54.3%. It starts with orange peels, pulp and rum-y flavours. The body part does express tropical fruits like pineapple and banana. Then it still goes back to the brown sugar sweetness with a spice ending.
BUT, you can't complain about this price in today's market.
It was about 16x SGD when it reached me.
