TLDR;

Cognac-influenced, pineapple and wood spice.

Nice Scale: 82/100

This bottle was released in June 2022, distilled in 7th March 2008 and bottled in May 2022, making it 14 Years. Aged in Hogshead and with 27 months of exchange experience in Cognac Barrique. Bottled at 50%, not too sure if its a cask strength. But with an outturn of 490 bottles.

Nose: My first impression was Ribena. Due to the strong influence of the Cognac cask, the presence of grapes is kinda obvious. And some malty-ness are eager to express.

Hints of tropical fruits like pineapple are hiding underneath. Vibrant.

Mouth: Cognac cask leads the way; it is neither good nor bad to me. And, pineapple Ribena mix, with some vanilla cream. Barley and some wood spice will also show up in the mouth. Something new compared to much of other Tomatin expressions.

Finish: Spice and creamy. Cognac vibes remain.

Have mixed feelings about this; the cognac barrel becomes the main star of the show, influencing and providing most of the flavours.

Nevertheless, you can't deny this is a unique release, but what could be done better? Maybe reduce the sharpness of the liquid.
